Buss, Lester "Curly"

Lester "Curly" Buss, age 89, formerly of Appleton, passed away at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin, on February 4, 2016. Curly was born on February 12, 1927, in the Town of Grant to the late John W. and Adela (Lutcherhand) Buss. He married Jeanette Klapper on November 13, 1949, in Green Bay; she preceded him in death on April 17, 2007. Curly was employed at the Kimberly Clark Corporation for 37 ½ years. He began his career at KC at the Lake View plant and then transferred to the KC Research Department at Winchester Road in Neenah. Curly proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in the South Pacific. He was well known as a skilled hunter and fisher and enjoyed the time he spent Up North. Curly was also a Boy Scout Master, Troop 15, at Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton.

Survivors include his son, Gerald (Nancy) Buss; his grandsons, Gerald L. Buss, Jr.; Jesse Buss (fiancé Charity) and his daughter Avree; and Jason (Erin) Buss, and their children, Curran and Korbyn. Curly was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jeanette and five brothers.

There will be a visitation for Curly on Friday, February 10, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton. Abiding by Curly's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Neenah.
