Jessie Mae Reese, 84, of Connersville, Ind., passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 2, 2017, at Caroleton Manor Nursing Home in Connersville.

One of two daughters of John Allen and Alva Mae Rutledge Bowles, Jessie was born July 28, 1932 in Glasgow, Ky.

On Jan. 10, 1953 she married Robert Elwood Reese in Laurel, Ind. Mr. Reese passed away on July 2, 1991.

Jessie attended school in Laurel. She retired from International Furniture Company and its predecessor, Schnadig Corporation in Rushville, Ind., after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Steel Workers Union.

In her leisure time she enjoyed country music, gardening, sci-fi movies and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always known for her smile and laugh.

Survivors include three daughters, Leona (Chuck) Osborn, Roberta Kay (Steve) Lingg, Tresa (Carl) Templeton, all of Connersville; five grandchildren, Charles (Aarika) Osborn, Alisha Osborn, Shelby (Jennifer) Steele, Roxanne Steele, Steven Lingg; four step-grandchildren, Megan (James) Gaddis, Christin Templeton (Zack Messer), all of Connersville, Brian (Jess) St. Louis of Austin, Texas, Kevin (Mariann) Lingg of Centerville, Ind.; seven great-grandchildren, Stevie and Drevin Rheinhardt, Taylor and Shelby Lynn Steele, Lilli and Eli Griffey, Gracey Osborn; eight step-great-grandchildren, Sam and Charlie St. Louis, Alexa and Bryce Lingg, Reagan Demont, Riley Gaddis, Elizabeth Kwiatt, Jase Messer, Alexis and Maria Wells, Devan Sparks; sister, Sadie Mengedoht of Rushville; sister-in-law, Mavis Reese of Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jessie is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert; her parents; two brothers-in-law, Marvin and Neil Reese; nephew, Benny Combs; mother-in-law, Leona McFarland; father-in-law, Deacon Earl Reese.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Eric Hopkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel North Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at the funeral home.
