Jack Everett Dodson passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home in De Kalb, Texas. He was 97.

Jack was born July 22, 1919, in Emberson, Texas to Roy Everett Dodson and Ethel Mae Shannon Dodson. He was a retired Church of Christ Minister, a WWII Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Avery Church of Christ in Avery, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Arnold Dodson; and a son, Larry Arnold Dodson.

Jack is survived by two nieces; Jan and her husband, Michael Seay of Castle Rock, Colorado and Michelle McDaniel of Texarkana, Texas; a nephew and his wife, Randy and Denise Swint of De Kalb, Texas; a great niece, Jennifer Seay of Abilene, Texas; a great nephew, Brandon Owen of Hope, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Dot Swint of Texarkana, Arkansas; and numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation was held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
