From The Robesonian, Lumberton, N. C., Mon., 9 Sept. 1929 - Funeral Services Here This P. M. For Mr. A. R. Aydlotte - Body of Former Lumberton Man Who Died in Charleston, S. C., Brought Here for Interment.
Funderal services will be conducted from the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. J. H. Wishart, 5th and Pine streets, today at 4:30 p. m. for Mr. A. R. Aydlotte, 67, who died at his home in Charleston, S. C., Sunday at 8:30 a. m. after an illness lasting since Friday with angina pectoris. Interment will be made in Meadowbrook cemetery. Services will be in charge of Dr. C. H. Matthews, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, assisted by Dr. C. H. Durham, pastor of the First Baptist church.
Deceased is survived by his widow, 2 children - Mr. C. J. Aydlotte of Florence, S. C., and Mr. E. . Aydlotte of Savannah, Ga.; 2 sisters - Mrs. Lucy Currie and Miss Ida Aydlotte of Maxton; one brother - Mr. Frank Aydlotte of Alexandria, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive, among them being Mr. Linwood and Misses Elizabeth and Lucy Currie of Maxton. Mrs. Aydlotte is a sister of Mrs. J. H. Wishart of Lumberton.
Mr. Aydlotte was a former resident of Lumberton. He came here in 1880, moved to Henderson in 1894, came back to Lumberton in 1906 and went to Charleston to live in 1909. Some of his Lumberton friends will be pallbearers this afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Aydlotte left last week for their home after a visit here in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wishart. They were accompanied back by Mrs. Wishart and son, John Jr. All of them expected to go to Savannah on a visit, but the sudden illness of Mr. Aydlotte prevented their going. The body arrived on the train at Pembroje this morning, accompanied by menbers of the family, and was brought to the Wishart home here.
