Orlo Ansley, 83, and Willene Ansley, 79, were found dead Tuesday afternoon at Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, from gunshot wounds to the chest. Mr. Ansley retired as a locomotive engineer from Norfolk & Western Railroad Company in 1972. Mrs. Ansley was a homemaker. Surviving are their son, William G. Ansley, of Framingham, Mass.; and their grandson.

Also, surviving are Mr. Ansley’s four sisters, Orpha Aldrich of Hillsdale, Mich.; Marie Whitney, of Edon; Wilma Keesbury of Toledo; and Mary Fetters of Montpelier; Mrs. Ansley’s brother, A.C. Hill of Grand Junction, Colo; and her three sisters, Marie Frazier of Seattle; Judy Jones of Littlefield, Texas; and Grace Hartley of Norton, Kansas.

Services at 1 p.m. EDT Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Calling from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 Friday at Wilson-Gessey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Burials in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier. Memorials to West Eagle Presbyterian Church, Montpelier.

Married Geneva Willene Brigle (birth name: Finnis Fern Wiley) on June 20, 1929 in Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, Michigan.

Orlo died on June 19, 1990 in Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity when he and his wife were shot with a .45-caliber pistol by their son, William.

According to the trial records, William felt a duty as a son to kill his ailing parents to prevent their suffering through the continued deterioration of their health.
