She was born on July 20, 1924 to the late E.J. and Jo Ada Israel Bagwell of Spartanburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Malone, Sr., and a granddaughter, Hope Malone. She is survived by three children, Harold A. Malone, Jr. (Nancy) of Campobello, SC, Joye Malone-DuPre of Kings Mountain, NC, and Angela Malone Lawter of Garner, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Carla Malone of Charlotte, NC, Courtney DuPre Robles (Clemente) of Greenville, SC, Daniel DuPre of Charlotte, NC, Sara Nicole Lawter Rush (Keegan) of Greensboro, NC, Victoria Lawter of Greensboro, NC, and Andy Lawter of Clayton, NC and two great grandchildren, Jasmine Wall and Ophelia DuPre. She was affectionately known as 'Aunt Becky' by her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was retired from the SC State School System and in previous years was very active in her church and with the Boy Scouts of America. A private service will be held for the family. A memorial donation may be made in honor of Rebecca to the Alzheimer's Association.
