Mrs. Melissa R Robinson, 90, of 776 Jefferson St., Galesburg, died Wednesday, 25 Mar 1964, at St. Martha's Nursing Home at Knoxville. Mrs. Robinson taught school at Abingdon for 11 years prior to her marriage 21 Feb 1906 to William H Robinson. He died 20 July 1940.

Mrs. Robinson was born 24 Oct 1873 near Abingdon, the daughter of Milton Dodge and Susanna Celeste (Burns) Burner. She lived on a farm near London Mills after her marriage, and moved to Galesburg in 1945. She was a graduate of Cherry Grove School and Hedding College, which was formerly located at Abingdon.

Surviving are a son, Max M Robinson, a Chestnut Township Supervisor; a daughter, Mrs. Helen C Hunter, math teacher at George Churchill Jr. High School, Galesburg; four sisters: Mrs. Mina Thompson of Hemet, Cal., Mrs. Bertha Jameson of Santa Barbara Cal., Mrs. Frances Eblen of Buelton, Cal., and Mrs. Jessie Medhurst of Abingdon; a grandson, Billie Robinson, and a great-granddaughter, Susan Lynn Robinson, both of near London Mills.

Mrs. Robinson was a granddaughter of Daniel G Burner, who was an associate of Abraham Lincoln when both lived at New Salem.

Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Unnited Brethren Church, of which she was a member. Burial was in Hermon Methodist Cemetery, Chestnut Twp, Knox County, Illinois.
