Gerald L. "Bill" Addington, 87, of Union City, Ind., died at 4:45 p.m. Jan. 16, 2007, at his residence. He was born Dec. 9, 1919, in Randolph County, Ind., to Cressie and Jeanette Clevenger Addington. On Sept. 12, 1937, he married Ruth M. Potter, who died July 17, 1994. Survivors are three sons, Bill (Dorinda), David (Donita) and Mark (Tonya), all of Union City; four daughters, Nila Scholl, Indianapolis, Ind., Ardith (Jerry) Rohrer, Union City, Susie Sullenbarger, Union City, and Sandy (Keith) Imel, Fort Recovery; two sisters, Dora Alice (Howard) Thornburg, Farmland, Ind., and Mary Alma Pavey, Chicago; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Floyd Addington and Gene Anderson; two sisters, Mildred Oliver and Doris Addington; and a grandchild. She was a retired farmer and retired after 32 years of service at the former Sheller Globe, Union City. He was a member of Sheller Globe Retiree Group, Union City; and 52 year member of the Church of Nazarene, Fort Recovery, which he helped build in 1968. He was a past board member of the church, Sunday school teacher and church bus driver. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Revs. Dennis Kelly and Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Contributions can be made to the church building fund.
