Mrs. Goldsmith was born on January 22, 1947, in Breese, Illinois a daughter of William David and Jessie Leona (Berger) Fulford. She married Shelby Goldsmith at the Carlyle First Baptist Church on August 26, 1965, and he survives in Carlyle.
Georgia is also survived by her children – Shelby Goldsmith, and Kim Deiters and husband Kory, all of Carlyle; 2 grandchildren – Alyssa and Emily Deiters; 2 brothers – Tommy Leitsch and wife Darlene of Chicago and David Fulford and wife Anita of Carlyle; a sister – Judy Eilers of Breese; and 3 special children who will miss their "GG" – Hailee, Shayna, and Hunter Rose.
Mrs. Goldsmith was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-and father-in-law – John and Martha Goldsmith; 2 sisters – Sue Farmer and husband Gene and Mary Ann Mollett and husband Cliff; 2 brothers – Bob Berger and wife Mary Catherine and Paul Leitsch and wife Charlene; and her in-laws – Wally Eilers, Sharon Keene and husband Bob and John Goldsmith and wife Norma.
Georgia worked at the Carlyle Abstract Company. She enjoyed sewing, reading and flowers, but more than anything she treasured her time with her grandchildren and family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Carlyle Christian Church with Rev. Josh Wolford, officiating. A luncheon will be served at the Carlyle Christian Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 until service time.
