Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Davis, 81, passed away August 2 in the Hilltop Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Mrs. Davis was born August 27, 1893 in Wharton Creek, the daughter of Jim and Eliza Dotson. She was married in 1911 to Joseph R. Davis who preceded her in death December 20, 1948.

Survivors are two sons, Virgil E. Davis, Jackson, and Grandon S. Davis, Chaffee; a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Thompson, Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Mrs. Chester Walker, Hindsville, and Mrs. John Lyman, Wharton Creek; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 o'clock Monday, August 4, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home with Rev. Arvil Huffman, pastor of the General Baptist Church of Chaffee, officiating. Interment was in the Union Park Cemetery.
