Obituary
John Edmond Cowart, 73, resident of the Berea section, died Tuseday morning at 1:30 o'clock at his home following a brief illness. He spent his early life in Franklin, N.C. Where he was born and reared. a son of the late John and Janie Henson Cowart. For a number of years he had lived in Greenville, having moved to the Berea section a few months ago. Mr. Cowart was employed as a watchman at a textile plant. He was a member of west Greenville Church of God. He was twice married, first to Miss Leila McClure Cowart and his second wife Gertrude Wilson Cowart. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Bruce Masters,Easley; Mrs Ben Bolding and Mrs. Stella Chambers, Greenville, and Mrs. Homer Hammett; Baltimore; two sons, William E. Cowart, Clinton, and Leonard Cowart, San Bernardino, Calif.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Cleo Meeks, San Bernardino, Caif. and 20 grandchildren. Furneral services will be conducted at friendship chapel on Queen st., by Dr. Charles Haddon Nabers on Tuesday at a time to be announced later. Interment will be in Easley Mill Cemetery at Easley. The body will be at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Wednesday when it will be carried to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stella Chambers, in the Berea section
