Mrs. Agnes Ontis of Jersey Dies
Succumbs to Injuries
Sustained in Accident

JERSEYVILLE, Oct. 5. 1948
Mrs. Agnes Mae Ontis, 43, wife of
William Henry Ontis of near Nutwood,
died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Alton,
Monday evening from injuries sustain-
ed when a truck struck a tractor on
which she was riding Friday.
Mrs. Ontis was riding on the the
draw-bar of the tractor when it was
struck by a truck driven by G. W.
Wieneke of Rosedale. She was thrown
to the pavement and the truck ran over
her.
Funeral rites will be conducted at
2 p.m. Friday at the Nutwood Church
and burial will be in Fieldon Cemetery.
Mrs. Ontis, a daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. William Burnett, was born near
Grafton. Besides her husband, she is
survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws,
Hazel and Earsie Miller and Katie and
Robert Scott, both of Fieldon; three
brothers, Clarence and Frank Burnett of
Fieldon, and William Burnett of Jerseyville;
a half brother, Leavitt Fryman of Fieldon;
a half-sister, Mrs. Jane Richards of Housal, MO.

Suit for 515,000 vas filed Saturday in Jersey County Circuit Court by William Ontls, administrator of the
estate of Agnes Ontis, against G.W. Wleneke of Rosedale Township. The suit is the outgrowth of an accident which occurred Oct. 1, 1948, about 6:30 p. m. on State
Route 100 near the junction of Route 100 and Route 16.
The complaint alleges that Agnes Ontis died Oct. 4, 1948, as the result of fatal injuries received in a
collision between a tractor driven by her husband, William Ontis, and a pickup truck driven by G. W. Wleneke.
