ZUMBROTA -- The funeral for Christopher B. "Chris" Zamenski will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with the Revs. Wayne D. Schoch and Erich Westphal officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery.
Mr. Zamenski, 36, of Zumbrota, died of cancer Thursday (Jan. 18, 2007) at his home.
Christopher Brian Zamenski was born April 10, 1970, in Bay City, Mich. He grew up in Bay City and graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw in 1988. In 1993, he graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn. On June 5, 1993, he married Alissa Bruss in New Ulm. They made their home in Tomah, Wis., where he taught at St. Paul's Lutheran School. From 1994 to 1998, he taught at the Immanuel Lutheran School in the Winthrop/Gibbon, Minn., area. In 1998, he became the principal and upper-grade teacher at Christ Lutheran School in Zumbrota. A member of Christ Lutheran Church, he enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kayla at home; and his parents, Anthony "Tony" and Christine (Finner) Zamenski of Bay City. Other survivors include his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Sue Bruss of Lake Hanska, Minn.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and an hour before the service Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Zamenski Family Fund in care of Bank of Zumbrota, P.O. Box 8, Zumbrota, MN 55992.
