L.D. Love a resident of Calera, Oklahoma left this life, at his home, on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the age of 84 years 3 months and 22 days. He was born in Utica, Oklahoma on October 8, 1932 to Hercules Martin and Alice Myrtle (Stanford) Love.
Rastus married Melba Kathleen Wingfield at the Achille Baptist Church on January 14, 1967. He was a welder by trade, but his true love was being in the pasture tending to his cows, and horses.
Mr. Love is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Melba of the home; son, Eric Love and wife Emily of Calera, Oklahoma; sister, Wanda Lewis of Calera, Oklahoma; grandchildren, John Luke Love and Whitlee Jo of Calera, Oklahoma; nieces, Belinda Irvin and husband Keven of Dumas, Texas, Debbie Woods of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Kim Ford of Bokchito, Oklahoma; nephew, Charles Love and wife Jeanette of Pampa, Texas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Love was preceded in death by his parents, Hercules and Alice Love; brothers, D.C. Love, Sam Love and wife Ozetta, Howard Love and wife Edna, and H.M. Love; brother-in-law, Grady Lewis; nephew, Joe Woods; great-nephew, Jerry Love and great-niece, April Washington.
A church service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 1st at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Calera, Oklahoma with Pastor Stephen Biggerstaff and Pastor David Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Colbert.
