Mrs. Lou Ada Royal, 76, mother of Mrs. Tom soberly, lost her life in a blaze early Wednesday morning that practically destroyed the small residence where she mad her home, just a few steps from the home of her daughter. The blaze was discovered at 12:45 and had made too great headway when discovered to permit anyone entering the house. The blaze was put under control in a few minutes, but too late to save Mrs. Royall.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the family lot at the Albany Cemetery. Interment was beside her husband who passed away October 5, 1945.

Mrs. Royall was born February 28, 1872, in Bosque County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. chapman. She came to Shackelford county with her parents in 1888, the family living on the McDonald place.

She was married to John W. Royall in Albany in 1899, and she has made her home here all the time except for eight years when they lived in Baird, Luders and Knowles, N.M.

Mrs. Royall had been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood, and was an active member as long as her health permitted. Mrs Royall was well known in the county and had a host of friends who were grieved to learn of her tragic death.

Mrs. Royalll was preceded in death by a daughter and son, Mrs. Emma Mims, who died in 1930 and Pete Royall, who passed away in 1947.
