William "Bill", born in Des Moines, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, was predeceased by his parents R.S. "Sam" and Lola Farris Pittard; brother Charles Pittard; and sister Ruby Dean Hollingsworth.

Bill was survived by his wife Fannie Lee "Bobbye" Bray Pittard; daughter Billye N. Coey (husband Joe) of Albuquerque; son Q. Lee Pittard (wife Susan) of Pecos; grandchildren: Amye Bronson-Doherty (husband Patrick) of Seattle, Hollye Bronson of Albuquerque, Shawn Coey (wife Jaime) of Denver, Colorado, Jennifer Coey of Albuquerque; Brian Coey (wife Jamie) of Albuquerque, Kate Pittard of San Francisco, California, Cody Pittard (wife Erin) of Saugus, California, Chansce and Alice Quinn Pittard of Pecos; 11 great grandchildren; sisters: Gertrude Morey of Pueblo, Colorado and Elizabeth Murray of Edmond, Oklahoma; and brother Robert Samuel Pittard Jr. of Amarillo, Texas.

Bill was the fifth child. After graduating from Des Moines High School, he completed a degree in Animal Husbandry at New Mexico State University. During World War II, he joined the U.S. Army where he held the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He and Bobbye were married on 23 March 1943 in Clayton, New Mexico; a few months before he went to England. After the War he worked as a County Agent for Colfax County. Later he bought a farm/ranch in Arkansas and after moving to Oklahoma, he went into the insurance business. He has worked in the insurance industry in Albuquerque since 1955. He was a Certified Life Underwriter and went on to earn numerous quality and production awards during his lengthy insurance career. He was a member of Kiwanis, Friendship Force, and sang in The Enchanters, an adult choral group. He was very active in the Church of Christ from his youth until his passing.

Viewing was on 4 March 2002 at French Mortuary-Lomas. Services were at the Northeast Church of Christ-Paseo Del Norte 5 March 2002. Interment was in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
