Mavis Louise Barfield Allsbrook, 91, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck. The Reverend Patsy Jones will be presiding.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
Mavis was born on May 9, 1925 in Edgecombe County, NC to the late John William Barfield, Sr. and Mary Caroline Hyatt Barfield. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Mavis worked as a Nurse in the health care industry for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ashley Raby Allsbrook, Sr.; her sister, Mary Hyatt Barfield; and her brother, John William Barfield, Jr.
Mavis is survived by her sons, Ashley Raby Allsbrook, Jr. and wife Lori of Durham and William Eric Allsbrook and wife Tammie of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Amanda Allsbrook, Christopher Allsbrook, Courtney Allsbrook, Allen Barnes, Travis Davis, and Amy Daniels; and her great-grandchildren, Ayden Allsbrook, Alexis Allsbrook, Cameron Barnes, Trenton Barnes, Kylee Daniels, Austin Stanley, and Rylan Stanley.
