Marvin Wayne Peters, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at the Lakeland Hospital in Lakeland, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at the Dewey Funeral Home in Ithaca on Friday, March 9, 2001 with the Rev. Robert Shellhouse officiating. Burial will take place in North Star Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the United Brethren Church in Ithaca.

Marvin was born March 9, 1908 in North Star Township. Mich. He resided most of his life on a farm south of Ithaca.

Marvin was employed at the old General Motors Transmission plant in Saginaw. He started work in 1936 when it first opened and retired from GM in 1965. He was also a farmer and enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. He was an avid fisherman and was always planning and making trips to Canada with his family.

Marvin and his beloved wife Lillian spent many winters in sunny Florida. He helped to build the United Brethren Church of Ithaca where he was a member. His family will always cherish their memories of him as a great father, grandfather and great grandpa.

He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Clarence) Kramp of Owosso, Mich., two sons, David (Audrey) Peters of Lakeland, Fla. and Ronald (Betty) Peters of rural Ithaca; his pride and joy were his 12 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren, and a cousin he was very fond of, Dorothy Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian.
