Stephen Lee Ipock, Jr., 70, of Moyock, NC died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 9, 1946 in New Bern, NC to the late Stephen Lee Ipock, Sr. and the late Nina Mae Gray Ipock and was the husband of Sylvia Ann Ipock. He served as an Engineman in the U.S. Navy, a veteran of 24 years. Boating, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren were his greatest joys.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sons, Stephen Lee Ipock, III (Amanda), daughters, Lauren and Leslie; and Mike Ipock, sons Joseph and Jacob, all of Chesapeake, VA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Broome and a brother, Arthur Johnson.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 ~ 8:00 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Home and at other times at the residence. A committal service with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Miners Road, Suffolk, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Hospital King’s Daughters, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507 or Disabled American Veterans, 106 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
