MARION JOHNSON HAS PASSED AWAY

One of the Old Residents of Lamar County Has Gone to The Long Rest

Marion Johnson, aged 81 years, who was an old resident of Lamar county and was engaged for years in farming, died Sunday evening at the home of one of his daughters, Mrs. Jeff Tucker of Clardy. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon and the remains were brought to Evergreen cemetery for burial.

He was born in Mississippi and had lived in Delta county before moving to Lamar county. He is survived by a son, R. B. Johnson, a well known attorney of Paris, and by three daughters, one of whom is the wife of Roy Weaver, a merchant at Clardy, and another, Mrs. Bobo, lives in Western Texas. He was a brother of the late Ben F. Johnson of Paris.
