Antonio Madrid, age 42, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Monday, April 3, 1989 at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque from injuries sustained in an accident.
Antonio was born in Las Vegas on January 14, 1947 to the late Daniel C. Madrid and Mary Quintana Archuleta, who survives him.
Antonio was employed at the Las Vegas Medical Center as a nurse for the past 15 years.
A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the V.F.W. Post #1547.
Antonio was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1966 until 1974, as SP4.
Antonio was preceded in death by his father, Daniel C. Madrid.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Cordy Madrid of Albuquerque, his parents, Lorenzo and Mary Archuleta, both of Las Vegas, brother, Herman Archuleta and his wife, Roberta of Albuquerque, sons, Joseph Madrid and his wife, Audrey of Twentynine Palms, CA, Eric Madrid of Las Vegas, NM and Jonathan Madrid of Albuquerque, nieces, Andrea Archuleta and Noel Archuleta, both of Albuquerque and numerous aunts and uncles.
Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father George Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery in Santa Fé with the following serving as casket bearers, George Archuleta, Moises Romero, Hank Abeyta, Cecilio Sena, James Abeyta and William Crespín. Antonio will lie in state at the Roger Chapel all day today until time of Rosary, where family and friends may call.
