Suggested edit: Cousin Rita Viars Smith, also descendant of William Poynter states that her grandmother, Lilly Poynter knew by word of mouth from her parents that William was brought back to KY to be buried in the Fairview Cemetery in the Conway community of Rockcastle County, KY. He is buried near the top of the hill. His child, George "W" Poynter and wife are buried near by. I can attest that George "W" Poynter's daughter Grace, who requested to be buried close to her father, George, had to be interred further down the hill. It seems that the grave diggers found at least 2 unmarked graves very close to George and his wife Esther.

There are so many years of birth for this William 1826-1834 that I decided to go in the middle.. we do have all the proof sources now...

This is the only William born around the years that our William was said to be born in Rockcastle County....
So it looks like his mom/dad are Jesse/Mary and a sister Mahala...

Muster cards There are 19 cards, the first one gives his "age: 35 and joined for duty Nov 16, 1861 in Rock Kastle Co. for 3 year term." another card says he was sick in hospital McMinnville Aug 16 1863 and then the one that says he "Died Sept 5, 1863."
And the CASUALTY SHEET=
"Died in the General hospital in McMinnville Tennessee of Consumption"

And then looking at the 4 documents that are attached it gives us his wife, Miriam Poynter, age:27 in Jan 18 1864. She further states that she/William were married on the "12th day of February 1853", she has added their minor children:

William J born Sept. 10 1863

And it appears that William, while he was "Deserted", went home for a spell, as 5 days after his death he had a new son born.
