Adam Ryan McWhirter, 33, Camby, Indiana passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, January 23, 2017 at his home . He was born June 17, 1983 in Indianapolis to Tim W. and Jan F. (Mardis) McWhirter.

Adam was a 2001 graduate of Decatur Central High School where he received his honors diploma. He also attended IUPUI for three years. Adam was a stock handler for NAPA Balkamp in Plainfield for 17 years. He was also an avid softball player for many years, coached little league sports at Decatur and Southwestway youth leagues and he was also an avid Colts and Reds fan.

Adam is survived by his parents; daughter, Lyla Kay McWhirter; son, Luke Ryan McWhirter; brother, Josh (Meghan) McWhirter; sister, Ashlee (Chris) Yoder; girlfriend, Neva Nichols; mother of his children, Shannon Mitchell; grandfather, William Robert McWhirter; nephew, Jayden McWhirter; three nieces: Cadence McWhirter and Myah and Macey Yoder and a vast number of work, softball friends and loving relatives.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Sarah Ali and the special nurses and staff at St. Francis Hospital for their compassionate care, kindness and friendship along with their encouragement during his courageous fight.
