Robert F. Credi of Taylorville, IL died at 4:00am Tuesday, February 24, 2017 in South Bend, IN.
He was born March 8, 1935 in Bangor, MI the son of Erminio and Bertha (Pat) Krohn Credi. On March 16, 1961 he married Etta Mae Ford at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid. Bob was a retiree from Freeman United Coal Company and a former employee of the Department of Revenue at the State of Illinois. Bob was an avid hunter, sports fan, especially, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini, and a long time H.S. football referee. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and active member of St. Mary's Parish and the Knights of Columbus in Taylorville.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are his Children: Dr. Greg Credi and wife Alison of South Bend, IN, Mindy Credi of River Forrest, IL, Geoffrey Ford Credi and wife Jami Mitchell of Chicago, and Melissa Bergen and husband Bill of Newtown Square, PA. There are 7 Grandchildren: Zachary Credi, Madeline Credi, Kalyn Credi, Garrett Credi, Katherine "Katie" Bergen, Molly Credi, and Kyle Bergen. He is survived by his Sister, Anita Young of Edwardsville, Il. Bob was preceded in death by his Wife, Etta Mae (Ford), his Brother, Erminio (Bill) Credi Jr, and his Sister, Gloria Credi.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. A prayer service will be held at 4:45 pm on Friday, prior to the visitation.
