Mary Frances “Evans” Royer, 96, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henrietta, Texas with Father Richard Collins, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Royer was born on October 31, 1920 on a farm near Henrietta, Texas to Clifford Ewing and Deana Frances (Klein) Evans. She married Charles L “Potts” Royer on June 29, 1946 in Henrietta. Mrs. Royer was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henrietta. Prior to retirement she worked as a secretary for the County Judge for 25-30 years and served as the church secretary for 7 years. She was a member of the Jr. Delphians and the Clay County Art Association. She was an excellent seamstress, artist and cook.
Mrs. Royer was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Deana Evans; husband, Charles “Potts” Royer; brothers, C.A. “Bud” Evans, Glen Evans, C.C. “Boss” Evans; sisters, Josephine Evans Staton, Martha “Mattie” Evans Moore; brother at age 4 Clifford (Little) Evans.
Survivors include nieces, Melba Cooper, Merval Edgemon, Carolyn Boyd, Dorothy Newcomb, Sue Evans, Celia Dowhower, Patricia Heacock, Julia Raby and Frances Jackson.
The family will be at Davis Funeral Home in Tuesday evening from 6:30PM-7:30PM.
