He was born to Daniel and Zelma Zachry in Provo, Arkansas.

He married Hazel Wise on January 11, 1931. She passed away in May of 2003.

Zachry

Zeamond E. Zachry, 99, formerly of Woodburn, recently of Keizer, died Sept. 4, 2006.

Born July 6, 1907 in Provo, Ark., he attended school in Arkansas and married Hazel Wise on Jan. 11, 1931 in Provo. In 1936 they made their home in Prescott, Ariz. He served as a boy scout leader and had worked for the Veterans Administration. In 1947 he was transferred to the VA Regional Office in San Bernardino, Calif., before transferring to Reno in 1949. He retired in 1970 after working for over 30 years as an assistant supply officer. They moved to Woodburn in 1970 and to Keizer in 1993.

He was very active in the Baptist Church and was a deacon for over 50 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and also deer hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Ed of Keizer; daughter, Lillie Graham of Keizer; sister, Tressie Kennedy of Bellflower, Calif.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

His wife, Hazel, preceded him in death on May 22, 2003.

A funeral service was held Sept. 8 at Capital Baptist Church in Salem.

Private interment was at Finley Sunset Hills in Portland.

Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
