Elisabeth Margarethe Seiler was born at Manderbach, Amt (county of) Dillenburg in the former duchy of Nassau, to Johann Jakob Seiler and Anna Elisabeth Hofheinz. Her family immigrated to Texas aboard the "Herschel", which left Bremen on 14-Aug-1845 and arrived at Galveston on 16-Oct-1845. Many in this family settled in Guadalupe Co. Eliese married Johann Gabriel Remmler on 22-Oct-1846 in Comal Co., and they settled in western Comal Co. She had at least 9 children, although 3 died while very young.
