Kate Berry died at the home of her mother, Mrs. E. L. Hurt, near Richland in Sangamon County at the age of 45 years, 4 months and 7 days. She first married John A. Dobbins of Lindley, Mo., on Sept. 11, 1877. They had two children, Ellen E. and John A. Dobbins, Jr. Her husband died June 8, 1889. After his death, she married Rev. A. Lincoln Berry of Churdan, Ia., on Dec. 19, 1895.
She was survived by her mother and siblings James G. Hurt, Fannie B. Hurt, Mrs. Alice Washburn, Mrs. Julia Stitt, Mrs. Lizzie Crouch and Maj. John S. Hurt.
