Coats, NC: Mr. Kenneth Clarence Gilchrist, age 67, of 96 Stephen Norris Lane died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at McLeod Trauma Center in Florence, South Carolina. Funeral Services will be 7:00PM Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Pastor Tommy Hancox will officiate.
Mr. Gilchrist was born in Wake County on January 7, 1946 to the late Clyde Herbert and Lucille Gray Gilchrist. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Frances Ray and Faye Baker, and brothers, Charles Henry Gilchrist, Sr., Pete Gilchrist, Ray Gilchrist, Jerry Gilchrist, Larry Gilchrist, and Roland Gilchrist. Mr. Gilchrist was an auto mechanic.
Survivors include Wife, Patty Honan Gilchrist; children, Steven Gilchrist of Coats, Kenneth Gilchrist, Jr., of Leland, Rebecca Nelson of Bisco, Keri Woessner of Wilmington, and Charles Henry Gilchrist of Wilmington; sisters, Mildred Presley of Thomaston, GA and Becky Kleaver of Benson; brother, Bobby Gilchrist of Merkel, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats 6:00PM to 6:45PM Tuesday prior to the service.
