Daniel Craig “Scotty” Buchanan Sr., 43, of 80 Hawsbrick St., Lewistown, died at 1:26 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, from injuries sustained in a logging accident in Clay Township, Huntingdon County.
Born Dec. 31, 1973, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Wilbur Thomas Scott.
His wife, Bobbyjo Dawn Moore, survives. He is also survived by his children, Darleane Lightner and fiancee, James Riling Jr., Daniel T. Buchanan and fiancee, Cierra McKnight, and Daniel C. Buchanan Jr., all of Lewistown; grandchildren, Kelsi, Thomas, Laea, Ava and Madison; and a brother, Kevin Buchanan, of Huntingdon.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Carol Scott.
Daniel was a member of the Northern Loggers Association, Northern Tier Hardwood Association and was certified with Substantial Timber Improvement.
He was self-employed as the owner/operator of D.B. Logging of Lewistown. He liked to collect logging memorabilia and antiques and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, 1106 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, with the Rev. George C. “Buddy” Baird officiating. Burial will be in Moorseville Cemetery, Petersburg.
