Billy Joe Storseth - 1923-2017

Billy Joe "Bill" Storseth, a long time Houston resident, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 13, 2017. He was 93 years of age. Bill was born on October 20, 1923, in Amarillo, Texas to Jessie Ray Adamson of Hedley, Texas and Raymond Paul Storseth of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, originally of Norwegian descent. The family resided at 904 Adams Street in Amarillo, Texas. Bill was the last
survivor of 8 siblings, 6 brothers, 3 older Johnny, Bobby and Eddie and 3 younger, S.L. Donald and Jerry and 1 sister Gladys born right after Billy, all of whom preceded him in death. On, February 10, 1946, he married the "love of his life," Frances "Jean" Barnes Storseth who preceded him in death by less than 1 year (by only 1 day) on January 14, 2016. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Vicki Storseth Cronin and husband Johnny of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Nancy Storseth McDonald and husband Martin, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and his five grandsons, Trey Cronin and wife Laura of Denver, Colorado, Corby Cronin and wife Britton of Austin, Texas, Coleman McDonald and wife Kristen and Scott McDonald and wife Dorothy, of Ft. Worth, Texas and William McDonald of Houston, Texas.
He was blessed to have spent time with all 4 of his great grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Cronin of Denver, Colorado, Leighton Cronin of Austin, Texas, and Miles McDonald of Ft. Worth, Texas. Bill graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and had a very successful career in the oil business. He loved football and saw OU win the Big 12 this year, one more time. He was proud to have served in WWII and was always a strong supporter of our military. Bill really liked being outside, always working in the yard and taking walks as well as playing tennis and keeping in shape. Bill and Jean, originally living in Oklahoma moved to Houston in 1972 where they lived for 40+ years. In 2014, they relocated to Granbury, Texas, close to their daughter Nancy. Dad will be greatly missed as he was an infinite source of wisdom and counsel to his entire family and loved by all. He was a man of great faith who never complained and trusted God in everything, portraying patience and dignity in every facet of his life. Our family would like to extend sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at the Cove Assisted Living at Waterview in Granbury, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church at 12 o'clock in the chapel located at 11140 Greenbay, Houston, Texas 77024. The reception will be immediately following the service at the church. Interment will be next to his beloved wife Jean.
