Sarah married John Art Driskell March 27 1864 in Phelps County, MissouriSarah was the daughter of Joshua West & Elizabeth (Ellis) Bird.

Her first marriage was to Hugh C. Eagan in Independence Co, AR, on August 9, 1856. Their children were Elizabeth Jane & Benjamin Franklin.

Kenneth Schmehl & Linda Herring has compiled the following information:
On 28 July 1911, Sarah Jane Driskell applied for a widow's pension for the service of her husband, John A. Driskell. She was 74 years of age at the time. John A. Driskell served as a Private in Co. E, Phelps Regiment, Missouri Volunteer Infantry, Union Army. She states that she was married under the name of Sarah Jane Eagan to John A. Driskell in Phelps County, Missouri on 27 March 1864. She further states that John Driskell had been married to Tildy Sanders, who had died at Rolla, Missouri. Sarah had been married to Hugh Eagan, who had died in Arkansas. John A. Driskell died July 13, 1911 at Dora, Missouri.

Sarah Driskell stated that Hugh Eagan never served in the army or navy of the United States. And she has never applied for a pension as his widow. She was divorced from Hugh Eagan.

Sarah Jane (Bird) Driskell, died on September 22, 1917. The following article was printed in the Brush Creek Items of the Ozark County Times on September 27: "Mrs. Driskell who has been ill for some time died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Berry."
