Margaret Fallon (Peggy) Palmer, born Margaret Oltman Fallon, was the widow of former U.S. Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer. A. Mitchell Palmer was her third husband. After his death in 1936 she lived the rest of her life as a prominent socialite in Washington D.C. According to former President Lyndon Johnson's wife Lady Bird Johnson Mrs. Palmer was a "lady friend" of the longest serving Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Sam Rayburn.
