He was born March 28, 1933 in Danville, Illinois, the son of George and Albertina (Hageman) Anders. He married the love of his life, Bobbie McConnell, on Dec. 30, 1978, who survives him.
Other survivors are his children, Tracie (Jeff) Collins, David (Ruth) Anders and Jeffrey Anders; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one nephew and four great-nieces, one great-nephew and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John "Hook" Anders; infant sister, Alberta and one niece, Holly.
George "Moke" Anders graduated Danville High School, was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, worked as a machinist at Modern Machine shop and later started at General Electric as a tool and die maker until he retired. He enjoyed life, was an avid animal lover and never knew a stranger. He and his brother loved to play fast pitch softball. He loved canoeing, fishing and snowmobiling with friends and family. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Kimberling City, Missouri where they enjoyed boating, skiing, fishing, golfing and a great group of friends on Point 7. They were members of Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church. He later retired a second time and moved to Indian Lake Estates, Florida where he was close enough to his two great-grandsons to watch them grow and play ball.
