Jim was born on November 7, 1934 in South Bend, IN and recently relocated to Raleigh, NC from Marietta, OH. He was the son of Helen M. Baldinger and Lawrence H. Baldinger. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence (Larry) and sister, Margaret (Nonny).
He is survived by his wife, Alayne Catherine Kollar; five children, Sue, Jan, Jim, Mike and Dave; and his brother Charles (Chuck). He was also a proud grandfather.
Jim graduated from the University of Notre Dame and served as a Captain in the United States Air Force as a pilot. Jim’s career in flying continued at Pan American and United Airlines. In retirement, Jim dedicated over 20 years to the Humane Society in Marietta, OH.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 20, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC preceded by a visitation starting at 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in Raleigh, NC at Raleigh Memorial Park.
