OBITUARY:
Dorothy Frances Osborn passed away December 17, 2011, at her residence at Hawthorne Court in Kennewick, Washington. Dorothy was born May 17, 1922, in Bemidji, Minnesota, to Ole and Arloene Degerman. She was the second oldest of nine children.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Theodore Osborn, in July 1942. World War II took Theodore to Europe shortly after marrying. Dorothy was also involved in war efforts working various ship yards as a welder. Their first son, Ted, was born in May, 1943.

Following the war, Theodore and Dorothy moved west in search of work. This would be the first of many moves following various construction jobs as well as expanding their family with the birth of their second son, Gary, in January, 1946. Dorothy worked many side jobs waitressing restaurants and bakeries to help make ends meet.

1955 was the beginning of a legacy for the Osborn family as Theodore and Dorothy co-owned a wrecking yard in Moses Lake, where they learned that the wrecking business suited them well. However, it was in 1959, that they found the place they would call home when they moved to Pasco and started Pasco Auto Wrecking. Dorothy was no stranger to hard work as she took on the job as the fastidious bookkeeper for the wrecking yard. The Osborn family proudly honors their legacy still today by operating Pasco Auto Wrecking as a third generation business.

Dorothy's family was very important to her and she kept them close at all times enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A great void was created in Dorothy's heart with the passing of her soul-mate, Theodore in 2002.

However, she had another great passion that helped fill that void and it was BOWLING! One did not get in her way on bowling day. She made life-long friendships through bowling and it was a very sad day when a severe stroke in 2003 kept her from the bowling alley. The consequences of this stroke took her to Hawthorne Court where she again continued building on old and new friendships which she dearly treasured. She was surrounded by these friends until she passed.

She is survived by sons, Ted (Lois) and Gary; grandchildren, Spencer (Whitney) Osborn, Sara (Garick) Mattson, Justin Osborn, and Danielle (Benji) Smith; great-grandchildren, Hayes Osborn, Ivy Osborn, Kiera Smith, and Ki Smith; brothers, Dick Degerman and Jim Degerman; sister, Violet Nelson.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore; granddaughter, Lia Osborn; brothers, Dale Degerman, Carl Degerman, and John Degerman; sisters, Bessie Simonson and Virginia Nelson.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at CityView Cemetery, 1300 Oregon Avenue, Pasco.

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
