Olaf was the fourth child of Oscar and Dora Omenson born August 28, 1923 in the Rock House at Norway Mills. He had three brothers and sisters, Evelyn Bakke, O’Belle Harris Polete, and Oscar Omenson Jr. all of whom proceeded him in death.
1st Lt. Olaf Omenson served in the Army Air Corps from December 1942 through December 1945 and was a P-51 fighter pilot in the Pacific theater. Upon being discharged, he returned to Bosque County where he continued to farm and attend Clifton Junior College.
In 1947 he married Nettie Louise Whitley, and in 1952 he began a career with the Monsanto Chemical Company in Texas City.
In 1981 he and Sara Reid Avara married, and in 1983 they retired and moved back to the farm in Bosque County. Sara proceeded Olaf in death in January of 2010.
He was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by three sons.
