“H. M. MCGLATHERY: Howard M. McGlathery died at a local hospital early Sunday morning following an operation for appendicitis a week ago. Apparently he was rapidly improving until Saturday he grew suddenly worse and despite the most expert medical attention he passed away. Funeral services will be conducted from St. John’s Episcopal Church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the rector Rev. J. F. Fulford, officiating, interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. McGlathery resided at 1323 Avenue H and was manager of the Capital Park garage. He had made his home in Ensley for ten years and had many friends. He is survived by his widow, and two small children, his mother Mrs. A. V. McGlathery; two brothers, H. W. McGlathery, of Gadsden, and M. P. McGlathery, of Birmingham, and one sister, Mrs. George Brittain, of Bessemer.

The following pallbearers have been named: D. F. Sugg, Charles G. Steen, I. O. Drewry, W. V. Tatum, E. T. McLane, and J. M. Stephens.”
