Mrs. Emma Bodger Jones, 81, 171-5th East, well known Salt Lake Eastern Star worker, died Friday at 7:45 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of a coronary occulsion.
She was the widow of Griffith Jones, clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad Co. and prominent in Masonic circles. She was married to Mr. Jones June 6, 1900, in Salt Lake City. He died Nov. 10, 1944.
A member of the First Congregational church, Mrs. Jones was a member of the Ladies' Aid society of the church. She was member of Mizpah chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Mothers' club, Alpha Chi Omega sorority, University of Utah.
Mrs. Jones was born May 27, 1867, in Northampton, England, a daughter of Charles and Mary Ann Smith Bodger, and had been a resident of the United States 57 years, 54 of which were spent in Salt Lake City.
Survivors include a son, Byron Griffith Jones, San Mateo, Cal.; a daughter, Doris Emma Jones, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. Francis Sieck, and Mrs. Alice M. Barnard, Long Beach, Cal., and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday noon in the Masonic temple, 650 E. South Temple by Mizpah chapter No. 5, OES, and Rev. George J. Weber, minister, First Congregation church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
