John "Jack" Callison was born in Bisbee, Arizona, the fourth of four boys, senior only to his sister, Anne "Peewee" Callison.

He was a clerk in the Army during the Korean conflict. He learned watchmaking and engraving in Elgin, Illinois. He was a car mechanic for 20 years with San Jose Ford and another 17 years with Alongi Brothers. After retirement, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of getting his private pilot's license and building a small plane (Zenair Zodiac) in his garage. He came out of retirement to teach (and to earn gas money for his plane) at an automotive vocational school (Sequoia/Corinthia/WyoTech) in Freemont, where he touched the lives of many new mechanics.

He is predeceased by both parents, his elder brother (Tom) and younger sister (Anne), two wives (Elaine and Donna), as well as a grandson (Henry).

He is survived by two elder brothers: Jim (Frankie) Callison and Roy (Mary Ann) Callison; two daughters: Catrina (George) Kolesar and Heidi (Rolf) Smith; six grandchildren: Jonathan (Rita) Kolesar, Nicholas (Leah) Kolesar, Alyson Kolesar, Katherine (Ian McColaugh) Smith, Ilse Smith, and Adam Smith; two great-granddaughters: Liliana Kolesar and Willow Kolesar; and a plethora of nieces and nephews, too numerous to count.

For more than 30 years, he was second-family to the Khoshabas and the De Nies (neighbors) and was a "regular" at Mil's Diner in Milpitas; he is survived by his favorite waitress, Muffin.

He will be sorely missed by all.
