Raymond E. Roberts, 50 Former Resident, Dies
Raymond E. Roberts, 50, a former resident of Larned, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at his home in Broomfield, Colo., as the result of a coronary attack.
He was born Feb. 3, 1914, at Hazelton, came to Larned with his parents, the late L. S. Roberts and Mrs. Roberts, in 1920. He attended the city school. He married Grace McIntyre of Larned, in 1934. For many years he was employed by J. S. Dillon & Sons and was at one time assistant manager of the Dillon store. He had resided at Broomfield for about five years. He was a traveling salesman.
Survivors include the widow; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Roberts, Larned; two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Hamilton, Mankato, and Mrs. Hal Trester, Denver, Colo.; a son, Raymond Dean, student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo., five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lora Williams, Great Bend, and Mrs. Nadine Smith, Larned; two brothers, Earl and Otis, both of Larned.
The funeral services will be at 2 p.m Monday at the Beckwith chapel, the Rev. J. H. Cain officiating, with burial in the Larned cemetery.

Survivors; The widow; son, Raymond, Broomfield; daughters, Mrs. Jean Hamilton, Mankato; Mrs. Judy Prester, Lakewood, Colo.; brothers, Otis and Earl Roberts, both of Larned; sisters, Mrs. Laura Williams, Great Bend; Mrs. Nadine Smith, Larned; mother, Mrs. L. S. Roberts, Larned; five grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Beckwith Mortuary, Larned; Rev. John H. Cain. Burial: Larned Cemetery. Call: 9 a.m. until service time at the mortuary.
