Patricia Ann Bennett, of Wallisville died Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Baytown, Texas.
She was born on May 12, 1933 in Silsbee, Texas to Buck and Aby Burks Spiller. Patricia was a resident of the Anahuac area for approximately forty-five years. She retired after 27 years from Walmart in Liberty, Texas where she worked as a sales associate. Patricia loved working at Walmart and after retirement would spend countless hours talking with her former coworkers on her trips back to the store.
Patricia enjoyed gardening and could grow just anything. In her younger years, she would always cook for the neighborhood kids. Patricia was also an avid reader, always with a book in her hands. She was an animal lover who had all types of animals throughout her life and loved to care for them.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Murphy Pinder; her late husband of 45 years, Steve Jefferson Bennett; her son Allen “Dale” Pinder; and her sisters Lily “Sis” Tullos and Dolly Perry. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brother John J. Spiller of Port Neches, Texas; her daughters, Theresa Broussard and husband Raymond of Woodville, Texas and Roxanne Shumate & husband Shawn of Wallisville; her son Gregory Bennett & wife Shannon; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, located at 1201 South Main Street in Anahuac. Funeral service will be held at 2pm in the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Anahuac Cemetery.
