Tragically, their 16-year-old son, Gerald, died of pneumonia in 1951.
Jesse worked as a guard for the McDonnell Aircraft Company in St. Louis County, Missouri. The family lived in Overland.
Jess was hospitalized at St. Louis County Hospital for the final week of his life. He died there of pneumonia at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 3 days.
He was survived by his wife, Golden; and 4 sons, Robert Reeder, Daniel Reeder, David Reeder and Stephen Reeder.
Jess was preceded in death by 1 son, Gerald.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of 30 Oct 1963 at the Baumann Brothers Funeral Home on Woodson Road in Overland, Missouri.
