She was born June 8, 1940 in Big Rapids, the daughter of Leslie and Eva (Troupe) Newberry, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1958. On August 1st of that year, she married James A Westover, and the two built a wonderful life together.
Anna Pearl was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Big Rapids, where she would always make sure there was hot coffee and good food to eat. She was an avid traveler who was always up for an adventure. After many years of being a well-known lunch lady for Big Rapids Public Schools, she retired, but she still would bring in her famous tea rings for teachers to enjoy. Anna Pearl will be greatly missed by her family and friends but she will always be remembered for her big heart, her wonderful home cooking, and her “Perky” attitude.
Surviving are her husband Jim; their children, Debra (Patrick) Morlan, Violet (Jeff) Fullmer, Rose (Chuck) Healey, all of Big Rapids; James (Kimberly) Westover of Killeen, TX, and Daniel Westover of Big Rapids; her sisters, Patricia Taylor, Donna Jones, and Terrie (Jeff) Morey, all of Big Rapids, sister-in-law, Pennie Newberry; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her special cousin, Vonnie Routley and many nieces and nephews.
