"William E. "W.E." Marcrum, 83, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, IN. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of General Electric, former owner and operator of ESSO station, developer of Country Railing Estates, former Allen County Circuit Court Clerk for 12 years, a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Graham Lodge #208 F & AM and Halfrey Dalton V.F.W. Post 5712 where he was former Commander. He was a son of the late Robert M. Marcrum and Alma Lee Mayhew Marcrum.
He is survived by his wife: Dean Marcrum, Scottsville, KY;
2 sons: Dr. William Eugene Marcrum, Tell City, IN; Charles Emery Marcrum and wife, Mona, Thompson Station, TN;
1 sister: Minnie Clements, Cocoa Beach, FL;
6 grandchildren: Michelle Marcrum; Melissa Barnes and husband, Jon; MacKenzie Marcrum; Katherine Vessels and husband, Brad; Evan Marcrum and Mitchell O. Marcrum;
3 great grandchildren: Makayla Marcrum; Andrew Barnes and Alexia Barnes and several nieces and nephews;
He was preceded in death by 1 brother and sister-in-law: James Robert "J.R." and Mary Hollis Marcrum.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Rogers officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 7:00 A.M. Saturday until funeral time. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Halfrey Dalton V.F.W. Post 5712, First United Methodist Food Pantry, Graham Lodge #208 F & AM or Mt. Pleasant Church. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home."
