Chester M. Cornbower
NASHVILLE - Chester M. Cornbower, 74, husband of Mrs. Anna Dell Cornbower, Spring Grove RD 1, died Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Hillview House Nursing Home, Hanover, where he resided the past three months.
A native of Codorus Township, he was a son of the late Francis and Lucinda Shearer Cornbower, and belonged to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Jefferson. In 1963, he retired after 23 years of service with the P. H. Glatfelter Co., Spring Grove.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: Eight sisters, Mrs. Mantilla Smith, Seven Valleys RD; Mrs. Sarah Ehrhart, York New Salem; Mrs. Mabel Shaffer, Seven Valleys RD 1; Mrs. Mary E. Kaltreider, 306 Wirt Ave., Hanover; Mrs. Hattie Dubs, Spring Grove RD 2; Mrs. Mamie Klinedinst, Jefferson; Mrs. Emma Keeney, Abbottstown, and Mrs. Lettie Kaltreider, Spring Grove RD 2.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Sauter Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove. Mr. Cornbower's minister, the Rev. Donald E. Mummert, will officiate to be assisted by the Rev. Dr. Earl E. Redding, associate pastor of Fourth United Methodist Church of York. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
