Kennard Sullivan Billingsley of Violet Hill, Arkansas

Kennard Sullivan Billingsley, son of the late Edwin Herman Billingsley and Abigail Sullivan Billingsley, was born May 29, 1922 in Myron, Arkansas. He departed this life January 9, 2017 at his home in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Juanda Lee Campbell October 17, 1942 and to this union three children were born. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he farmed, he owned and operated a grocery store and worked as a carpenter with Horseshoe Builders. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Fairview Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters: Judy Mooberry and husband Joe of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Debbie Yancey of Violet Hill; six grandchildren: Jenifer Calhoon, Philip Mooberry, Micah Mooberry, Joshua Yancey, Lindsey Yancey-Gandy and Kara Snearly; 17 great grandchildren: Keats, Caleb, Gabriel Calhoon, Mackenzie, Campbell, Luke, Isaac Mooberry, Eliana, Adalee, Vianne Mooberry, Kaizer, Keegan Yancey, Krayson, Hadleigh, Braylen Snearly, Lucas and Dovney Gandy; two nephews: Kohn Batterton of Franklin and Dean Billingsley of Highlandville, Missouri; two nieces: Gail Beck of California and Kyla Stegemann of South Carolina and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son: Jim Billingsley; five brothers: Sheldon, Arson, Bud, Alvah and Perry Lynn Billingsley; two sisters: Catherine Batterton and Hope Underhill; and one son-in-law: Donnie Joe Yancey.

Funeral service and visitation will be Saturday, January 14 at Fairview Baptist Church in Violet Hill with Randy Bailey officiating. Visitation will began at 12 noon and service will began at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
