Beatrice “Bea” Maxine Townsend, age 80, of Lone Rock, passed away on January 9, 2017. She was born on January 19, 1936, the daughter of Lawrence Marshall and Hazel Mildred (French) Finch. Bea married Henry “Jiggs” Lee Townsend on July 12, 1954. Together they raised two children and had many happy memories for 62 years. She was a lifelong member of the Lone Rock Community Congregational Church. She enjoyed her cats and spending fun times with neighbor nieces, nephews, and friends. Bea was blessed with a green thumb enjoying gardening, flowers, and anything that would allow her to spend time outdoors.
Bea is survived by her husband: Henry; son: Harvey L. Townsend of Boscobel; daughter: Marjorie Ann (Don) Stanke of Lone Rock; sister: Lucille Skinner; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Patrick Henry Finch, Lawrence “Jr.” Albert Finch, Raymond Lauern Finch; sister: Eleanor Leoni Glaser.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Lone Rock Community Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the Lone Rock Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Lone Rock Community Congregational Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
