Mabel Vinson Bearden
November 27, 1926 – January 7, 2017

Rev. Frank N. Bearden, Jr., age 88, of Demorest, Ga. went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2017. Twenty-four hours later, his beloved wife of seventy-one years and seven months, Mabel Vinson Bearden, age 90, also went Home to be with the Lord, thereby reuniting them in their Heavenly Home.

Rev. Bearden was born April 9, 1928 in Austell, Georgia to the late Frank N. Bearden, Sr. and Beatrice Allums Bearden Crews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ed Bearden. Mr. Bearden was a graduate of Mercer University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to retirement, he was a Pastor serving local churches in Georgia and North Carolina over the years.

Mrs. Bearden was born November 27, 1926 in Demorest, Georgia to the late Otis and Jeanette Vinson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Palmer. Mrs. Bearden also graduated from Mercer University. Prior to retirement, she was a 4-H Program Assistant with the Habersham County Extension Office in Clarkesville, GA.

Rev. and Mrs. Bearden were members of Clarkesville Baptist Church.

Rev. and Mrs. Bearden are survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Connie Bearden, of Virginia Beach, VA; Terry and Yvonne Bearden, of Commerce, GA; Tim and Carol Bearden, of Linden, TN; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Rev. Bearden is also survived by his sister, Barbara Stover, of Canton, GA.

Mrs. Bearden is also survived by her sisters, Sue Vinson Bearden, of Demorest, GA; Doris Vinson Sutherland, of Atlanta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, William and Evelyn Vinson, of Social Circle, GA.

A Joint funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Layman Larry Bearden, Rev. Terry Bearden, Rev. Tim Bearden and Rev. Grady Walden officiating. A private interment will be held.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tennessee Baptist Conference Centers, 1225 Baptist Camp Road, Linden, TN 37096.

Arrangements are in care of Whitfield Funeral Home & Crematory, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
