Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 at St. Peters Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Melba E. Trobec, age 100, who died Friday at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. Rev. Alan Wielinski will officiate and burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Melba was born to the late George and Mary (Pasonault) Witney, in Antler, ND. She married John L. Trobec on October 18, 1938 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Antler, ND. Melba attended Jamestown College and taught school for several years in North Dakota. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, St. Peters Christian Women, Daughters of Isabella and volunteered at the St. Cloud Hospital. Survivors include her children; Sherry Trobec of Jacksonville, OR, Pat (Stephen) Rogness of LaPorte, MN, Mary (Randy) Halstrom of Sartell, Marsha (John) Ludivig of,Arvada, CO, and John (Mona) Trobec of Lakewood, CO, 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John on November 29, 1999, brothers; George, Everett and Jerome and step-sisters, Irene and Marge.
